Children’s Art Classes in Dorchester
At Creative Image Studio, we offer inspiring and supportive art classes for children aged 6–13 years. Our sessions are thoughtfully structured so that every child, whether a complete beginner or more experienced, can enjoy creating, learning, and building confidence at their own pace.
Mixed-Age Classes (Ages 6–13)
Our children’s art classes run as mixed-age groups, allowing siblings and friends to attend together. Projects are designed with flexible outcomes, and each child receives individual guidance so they feel confident, supported, and appropriately challenged.
This mixed-age approach encourages creativity, independence, and peer learning in a relaxed and inclusive environment.
All materials are provided, and children take home a completed artwork each week.
Block Bookings
Children’s art classes at Creative Image Studio are offered in structured blocks, rather than as weekly drop-in sessions.
We use block bookings because they:
Allow children to build skills and confidence progressively
Support continuity in projects and learning
Create a settled, familiar group dynamic
Enable us to plan materials, projects, and staffing properly
For families, block bookings are also better value and provide a more meaningful creative experience for children.
Late joins may occasionally be considered at the studio’s discretion, subject to availability.
Age & Supervision Policy – Children’s Art Classes
Our children’s art classes are suitable for ages 6–13 years.
Children must be 6 years old or above at the time the block starts.
Following a careful review of our class structure and project level, we have found that the pace and focus of our sessions are not suitable for children under 6. For this reason, we are unable to accommodate children under the age of 6, including attending alongside older siblings.
We appreciate that this may be disappointing for some families and thank you for your understanding.
To support children’s independence and to maintain a calm, focused learning environment, all children’s classes are drop-off only. Parents and carers are not able to remain in the studio during sessions.
This approach allows us to give all children the attention, guidance, and creative space they need to fully engage in the class.
We are unable to make exceptions to age, supervision, or booking policies.
